THE DAKE ANNOTATED REFERENCE BIBLE (KJV), Large Note Edition, Genuine Leather

My dad got me a new study Bible last October!

It's THE DAKE ANNOTATED REFERENCE BIBLE, in the King James Version (KJV), large note edition, genuine leather!!!

For those who do not know what is a "DAKE," it is [only] the most informative and comprehensive study Bible ever!

I read DAKE's notes on the Book of REVELATION back when I was 15 years old. It is still my favorite exposition of REVELATION.

The features (sample from the Book of GENESIS):
  • 4 columns to a page — text and notes side by side
  • complete concordance lists every Bible word
  • 500,000 cross/chain references
  • 9,000 headings dividing text
  • 35,000 commentary notes
  • key Hebrew and Greek words defined
  • 8,000 sermon outlines
  • fingertip fact finder
  • summary at end of each book
  • literalizing Scripture
  • genuine leather
  • gold foil edges
  • ribbon marker

Some pictures I took:

It comes in a box. Take note, this is the older printing, which is in KJV. There are newer printing of the DAKE in hardcover, and in the New King James Version (NKJV).

Oh, yeah! I am so using this study Bible for the rest of my life!

Praise be to the God of the Bible, for His Word is always exciting to read, study, preach, and live by!

"What in the World is Going On?", by Dr. David Jeremiah

"[W]e have a certain promise that the Lord will return. Ours is not a mere longing or a desperate hope... for our Lord is the Creator and Master of all, and His promise is as sure as His very existence.

The prophets, the angels, and the apostle John all echo the words of promise from Jesus Himself that He will return. God's Word further amplifies the promise by giving us clues in prophecy to help us identify the signs that His return is close at hand. The signs that tell us the second-coming of he Lord is drawing near should motivate us as never before to live in readiness... [T]he Rapture, which is the next event on the prophetic calendar, will take place seven years before [the Tribulation]...

As we anticipate His return, we are not to foolishly set dates and leave our jobs and homes to wait for Him on some mountain. We are to remain busy doing the work set before us, living in love and serving in ministry, even when the days grow dark and the nights long.

Be encouraged!
Be anticipating!
We are secure; we belong to Christ [!]"

~ Dr. David Jeremiah, "What in the World is Going On?" (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson, Inc., 2008), page 237.

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
WOW!!! It's been a LONG time since my last post.
So,yeah! Finally done with SPM! Preparing to go for Pre-Uni studies. Maybe get a job in the meantime.

Hmm... What else?
Oh! I've finished my study on The Epistle to the Galatians (for now...). I've read Thomas R. Schreiner's Zondervan Exegitical Commentary on the New Testament: Galatians, as well as Chuck Missler's study on Galatians with the notes.

Praise be to God and Father of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for guiding me through His inspired and inerrant Word.
Glory be to God that Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for me (Galatians 3:13), and freed me from "the elemental things of the world" (Galatians 4:3).
Thanks be to God that I have fully understood (just as the apostle Paul did when he wrote this epistle almost 2000 years ago) that "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me" (Galatians 2:20).

The following is from Chuck Missler's Notes on Galatians (click this link to download the full notes) concerning the Law, which isn't sufficient nor able to justify sinners before God, in contrast with God's grace:

Also, I've read two books from Defender Publishing Group which made me realise the importance of having a Biblical worldview in these "perilous times" (2 Timothy 3:1), as well as having a supernatural approach in the interpretation of Scripture. The book are Carl Gallups' Gods & Thrones: Nachash, Forgotten Prophecy, & The Return of the Elohim, and Thomas Horn's Blood on the Altar: The Coming War Between Christian vs. Christian.

Ok. That's all for my first post of the year.

God Bless.

The Seduction of Christianity

I recently read The Seduction of Christianity: Spiritual Discernment in the Last Days by Dave Hunt and T.A.McMahon. This is the second book I’ve read by Dave Hunt after finished reading Peace, Prosperity and the Coming Holocaust. It’s a very good, clear and detailed book on knowing all about the dangers of the seducing New Age Movements, Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), Shamanism, psychology, spirit guides and many more that’s INVADING THE CHURCH!!! This book was first published back in 1985 and both of these gentlemen considered this to be a VERY, VERY SERIOUS ISSUE.

From the back cover of the book:
The Bible clearly states that a great Apostasy must occur before Christ’s Second Coming. Today [remember, this was back in 1985 – my emphasis] Christians are being deceived by a new world view more subtle and more seductive than anything the word has ever experienced.
What are the dangers in the growing acceptance and practice of-
• positive and possibility thinking
• healing of memories
• self-help philosophies
• holistic medicine
The Seduction of Christianity will not appear as a frontal assault or oppression of our religious beliefs. Instead, it will come as the latest “fashionable philosophies” offering to make us happier, healthier, better educated, even more spiritual.
A compelling look at the times we live in. A clear call to every believer to choose between the Original and the counterfeit. Only then can we hope to escape
THE SEDUCTION OF CHRISTIANITY

This is one particular segment in the book that I find to be very true:

It is absolutely necessary to allow the Bible to judge every experience. If there is not clear teaching in the Bible to support a practice, it should not be adopted by the church today, regardless of how beautiful and seemingly miraculous the experiences are that it produces. Unfortunately, to an alarming degree, the Scriptures are no longer looked upon as the full and sufficient guide given by the Holy Spirit for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

Two major attitudes have opened the door to error in the church: 1) Experience is taken as self-authenticating, so that the need for the biblical authentication is considered to be marginal at best; and/or 2) psychological theories are accepted that provide the authentication of experiences and practices which cannot be justified from the Bible. Both of these attitudes are becoming widespread in the church [emphasis in the original]. - Dave Hunt and T.A.McMahon, The Seduction of Christianity (Harvest House, 1985), Chapter 12: Psychological Salvation, p.179, second paragraph.

In conclusion, to have spiritual discernment in the Last Days and to correct and reproof this seduction and the people practicing it, including fellow believers in Christ, I recommend this book highly. I also recently got Dave Hunt’s Global Peace and the Rise of the Antichrist

GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Why Won't They Listen? by Ken Ham

Again I'm in school :P Recently, my dad pass me Why Won't They Listen? by Ken Ham.

Here's the synopsis on the back of the book:

A lot of money and time is spent by Christians who have a passion to spread the gospel. Across the globe, this effort is paying off as seekers find Christ, the source of truth and peace.
In many cultures, though, appeals made on behalf of the Christian faith are met with blank stares, indifference, even mocking hostility.
Ken Ham, one of Christendom's most astute observers of evangelism, is convinced that compromise with evolutionary world views has virtually crippled preaching and teaching efforts, especially in Western societies.
In this truly bold new book, Ham presents an ambitious plan to fulfill the Great Commission. A compelling writer and speaker, Ham deftly exposes the great flaws of Darwinism, and shows how compromise with this philosophy of death is killing the Church. By urging Christians to stand on the veracity of the Bible, Ham clears the jungle of tangled views of reality, and helps committed Christians see the path to effective evangelism.

This book emphasize a lot on the importance of believing that events like:
  • GOD CREATED THE EARTH IN SIX LITERAL DAYS,
  • ADAM AND EVE ARE REAL,
  • THE FALL IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN IS LITERAL AND REAL ,
  • NOAH'S FLOOD IS A GLOBAL FLOOD, NOT LOCAL.
If you are a fundamentalist Christian (believing that the Bible is LITERAL and that GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS AND SAYS WHAT HE MEANS, which you should), this is the book for you on literal interpretation of the very first book of the Bible, Genesis and have a foundation of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) based on creation. In fact, I advise every Christian to read this and share this book with others. It's fun and straight to the point.

Ken Ham's ministry, Answers in Genesis (from the website) is an apologetic ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus on providing answers to questions about the Bible—particularly the book of Genesis—regarding key issues such as creation, evolution, science, and the age of the earth.

Right now, I'm reading The New Answers Book 1 (total four books in the series), also another book by Answer in Genesis.

That's all for now. Keep reading and studying the Bible, pray everyday and share the Gospel. GOD bless you. :D
