Hello again!
Before we get started, I want y’all to know why I’ve stopped posting since February this year. I should’ve mentioned this in the
last post.
First things first, I got a job, (my first), at Kinokuniya Book Stores in KLCC. I worked there from the end of February till March. It was a really good experience getting posted in the COMICS SECTION!!! Duh?! It’s like a dream come true! The time spent in arranging Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, Valiant, and IDW comics – ranging from paperbacks to ‘omnibuses’ – (what’s the plural for omnibus? Is it ‘omniby’ or ‘omnibi’ or ‘omnibuses’?) – to absolutes and to vibranium/adamantium collections is truly one of the best time of my life! There was one occasion where I intentionally tore of the plastic wrap of Batman: Knightfall Omnibus Volume 2: Knightquest, just so I could browse through it. :P Actually, the plastic wrap was already half opened. Hence, “as a responsible staff,” it is “my duty” to wrap back the books where the plastic wraps are torn. Muahahahahaha…
Secondly, I’ve been busy with the start of my college life in April. I’m finishing my first semester of Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in a few weeks’ time. So far so good. I’ve managed to finish all my assignments on time. The people I meet are quite interesting – most of my course mates are from Arab countries. I’ve never met an Arabian before. Cool... So, yah, I’m really looking forward for the rest of the time studying E&E engineering.
OK. On with the review.
There are actually three versions of this set, two versions of SY, while one of SY/SEMBO. The one I got (SY version) is with the shiny box cover-work. The other SY's version comes in the exact same box art without the shiny-work. Then, there's the SY/SEMBO version, where the Iron Man Mark 38 Igor minifig is made without the helmet, and the Tony Stark minifig have arm pritings and boot printings.
I’m still not quite confident with the recent SY/SEMBO collaborative products — SY & SEMBO NO.60000 MKII War Machine ~ Iron Patriot, SY & SEMBO NO.60001 MK16 Iron Man, SY & SEMBO NO.60003 MK24 Iron Man, SY & SEMBO NO.60020 MK36 Iron Man ~ Peacemaker, SY & SEMBO NO.60021 MK42 Iron Man, SY & SEMBO NO.60023 MK23 Iron Man, SY & SEMBO NO.60030 MK44 Iron Man ~ Hulkbuster, as well as the remakes of the MK1 and MK46 — based on the reviews I’ve seen. I’m only interested in the MK36 Peacemaker, MK42, and MK44 Hulkbuster. The rest are…“meh”. Some say SY and SEMBO are one and the same company. I don’t see it that way though. Ever since the Iron Patriot armour, the colour and build of the bricks aren’t improving.
Oh, well…

This minifig comes with the dual-side print; the standard smiley one and the angry one. Good printing!

Closer look on the arm. I reviewed one side of the arm because both arms are of the same build – one of the reason this Iron Man build is my favorite. The build is symmetrical, unlike the
Avengers Age of Ultron Hulkbuster by the official
LEGO®, and the previous two builds by
SY.
There are a total of four (two on each side of the arm) shooters in this set. Cool!
Closer look on the leg. Both legs are of the same build. Notice the parts where the stickers are applied. So detailed!!!
Yeah!!! My first geared-clicking joint brick! It’s very strong and not too tight.
Closer look on the face printing. Very sharp! Nice shiny-silver print!
Yeah!!! My first spring shooter! Great quality! However, it’s quite sensitive. A slight touch will launch the “arrows”. I almost lose them during the process of building and reviewing!

Closer look on the back. I especially like this part. With all the crazy gears, it’s so freaking cool! Good thing
SY included the back support like in the
Iron Man 3 movie. The gears, however, can’t really rotate each other. Ehhh… It’s fine. :)

These are what it’ll look like when you open all the ‘flaps’/movable parts. It’s like the original
Hot Toys action figure.
The minifigs is too small to pilot the giant mech. You’ll have to add a 1x2 brick.

Recently, I browsed through the building instructions for the newest build of Iron Man Mark 44 Hulkbuster build by the official
LEGO® – LEGO® 76105 Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Age of Ultron [The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition]. So, I decided to copy the base for the Iron Man minifig. Forgot to mention, there are two extra stickers. Hence, for the label of the base, I used the extra sticker, the same one used on the torso. Not bad, right?
I also compared the sizes of the Iron Man mechs that I have with the two newest Hulkbusters build by the official LEGO®. I used the LEGO® Digital Designer (LDD) software to compare them. Yes, I built all six of these mechs using LDD. I wasted close to 10 hours building Legos by software. It’s VERY CHALLENGING! I will ALWAYS prefer hardcopy than softcopy; like a hardcopy BIBLE than a softcopy BIBLE, or a hardcopy comic book than a softcopy comic book. You get the gist. :)
