Review on Decool 7103 Superman ~ Metropolis Showdown

Hello again!

Today, I’ll be review a Decool set. For the past few post, I’ve been reviewing on A LOT of LELE sets. You won’t believe how much I got for this set – RM9.90!!! Normally, this set would cost about RM20 for Decool. The original LEGO® version cost about RM50!!!. I understand that this set is QUITE old. In fact, it’s one of Decool earliest sets. So, I guess my local boot-Lego shop just wants to clear the stock? ^.^

Each bag is labeled with the set number – “7103-(bag number)”.

Very good color and tone! The inking isn’t too thick, or, too thin.

The eyes are red. Yeah!

The ink is a bit thin for this one. The tone is good (natural).

General Zod (front).
Decool’s version of General Zod comes with a black cape. Yeah! Bonus!

The design I practically the same as Superman’s, except for the chest symbol and the costume color. Good printing and inking!

This is my only complaint for this set. Look at the face printing. It’s too stretched. It looks weird. Then again, this is one of Decool’s earliest works.

The goatee isn’t really aligned. Other than that, the tone, color, and prints are pretty good.

Based on the original LEGO® version for this set, the General Zod minifigure doesn’t have a cape. I personally prefer it with the cape. Zod looks plain without it.

The extra pieces.

FYI, I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT ENJOY AT ALL – the ‘‘one loud bass note theme throughout Man of Steel by Hanz Zimmer” and the repetitive, pointless, unnecessary “SMASH HERE” and “SMASH THERE”, and the “BOOOM HERE” and “BOOOM THERE”. Did I also mention that this is actually Superman’s first appearance to the world and what does he do, he and Zod had a “fun time” throwing each other into buildings, which in the end destroyed half of Metropolis (no one wonder Batman has to bash Superman upside down in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice >q<) [*Sigh…*]
